The week aims to reach people who were worried about dementia and encourage them to confront their concerns and access the support and help they need.
International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia puts the spotlight on the discrimination experienced by many LGBT+ people around the world.
HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY
A day to remember the millions of people who were murdered or whose lives were changed beyond recognition during the Holocaust and in subsequent genocides.
International Women's Day
The day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and puts the spotlight on the global action needed to accelerate gender parity.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF HAPPINESS
The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution which recognised happiness as a ‘fundamental human goal’ and called for members to promote happiness and well-being.
NATIONAL EPILEPSY WEEK
14TH - 20TH MAY
A week to tell as many people as possible about epilepsy and to help improve the lives of everyone affected by the condition.
12TH - 18TH JUNE
An annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
BISEXUAL VISIBILITY DAY
The day has been marked each year since 1999 to highlight biphobia and to help people find the bisexual community and learn more about bisexuality.
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
The objective of the day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilise efforts in support of mental health.
STAMMERING AWARENESS DAY
The day is a great opportunity to talk about stammering. Only by talking openly about stammering will we gradually remove the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding it.
WORLD AIDS DAY
An opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
The day is an annual observance in the United States, Canada and the UK for remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora.
NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY
The day is observed annually to celebrate coming out as LGBT+ and to raise awareness of the LGBT+ community, equality and to celebrate diversity.
TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
A day to remember those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.
HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
A call to stand up for someone’s rights. Disrespect for basic human rights continues to be wide-spread in all parts of the globe – with extremist movements on the rise.
