JORDAN GRAY, ROLE MODEL AND STAR OF TV SHOW THE VOICE UK, ENTERTAINED GUESTS AT OUR VERY FIRST ‘#THISISME ROOFTOP GARDEN PARTY’ IN EDINBURGH ON SATURDAY 2ND JULY 2016. IT WAS JORDAN’S FIRST EVER PERFORMANCE IN SCOTLAND TOO.

In the run up to the sold-out event at The Glasshouse hotel, in the heart of Edinburgh, Jordan featured on the STV Late Show and chatted about the event – our 2017 Scottish Diversity Festival got its first mention too!

Jordan spent the afternoon mingling and taking lots of selfies with our guests, in the majestic rooftop garden with views of famous landmark Calton Hill.

“My life is about feeling happy and hoping that it emanates outward to a crowd. To know I did this feels amazing.”

She closed our Garden Party by wowing the crowd with a very special 30-minute performance that included her unique interpretation of hits by Coldplay, Johnny Cash and Culture Club, and many more, as well as her new single ‘Hang With The Happiness’.

All smiles. An event for all the family

INTERVIEW : 5 MINUTES WITH JORDAN

How was your trip to Edinburgh for the #ThisIsMe Rooftop Garden Party?

I’ve wanted to perform in bonnie Scotland for a long time now. The fact that my first show was a sold-out gig in the heart of the capital, all for a great cause, was wonderful. And the fact it came with a TV appearance on the side was a nice bonus.

What did you enjoy most about the day?

I enjoy meeting people with confidence and new ideas, and I met lots of great people on the day. I tried a little bit of all the delicious food and drinks on offer too. #ThisIsMe brings out some beautiful people.

Your performance at our event was amazing. How did the awesome reaction make you feel?

It’s always nice to know that people enjoy what you do. My life is about feeling happy and hoping that it emanates outward to a crowd. To know I did this feels amazing.

What’s your current favourite song to perform?

I love to play medleys and mash-ups. My original song ‘Corridors’ has evolved over the years to include a zillion-and-one impressions of other artists…so that’s a giggle.

What does the rest of the summer have in store for you?

Touring non-stop. I’m performing on the main-stage at lots of national Pride events throughout the summer, including Glasgow, Brighton, Cardiff…There will be lots of writing, recording and making new friends.
