Skittles go rainbowless to support Pride

Following their unveiling and popularity at Pride in London in 2016, Skittles, owned by confectionary company Wrigley, have unveiled their #onerainbow rainbowless packs in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Pride events around the UK. The brand are proudly declaring, “During Pride, only one rainbow matters. So we’ve given up ours to show our support.”

Marketing Director at Wrigley UK Julio Guijarro said : “The response to our #onerainbow (or Give The Rainbow) campaign at Pride in London 2016 was incredibly positive, so we were keen to get involved again. Our activity last year resulted in requests from across the world for colourless Skittles packs, so we’re really excited to team up with Tesco UK to launch the limited edition ‘rainbowless’ packs to show our support again for Pride and celebrate diversity and inclusion.”

The Skittles packaging switch began in late March and wraps up in September.

For every limited edition #onerainbow pack sold, Wrigley will donate 2p to Tesco’s LGBT+ charity partners, including Diversity Role Models.

John Dickinson, Chair of Tesco’s inclusive LGBT+ employee network, said: “As part of our support for Pride this year, we’re delighted to have worked with Skittles to offer their ‘rainbowless’ fruit packs in all our UK stores from the end of March.”

The limited edition #onerainbow packs are exclusive to Tesco and can be purchased in selected UK stores and online.
